Can you see the tooth? Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of a tooth? Really hard.
Some facts about Shelby at ten months old:
- She now has TWO teeth. The first one - bottom right - came in last week and on Thursday night after her bath I noticed that the bottom left tooth had poked through. Which brings me to...
- Her sleep has been sort of horrible for the past month. It seems like one thing on top of another - illness, trying to crawl, teething - has disrupted her sleep almost every night since Christmas. Which brings me to...
- Crawling! She is really getting the hang of getting into the crawling position now! She will rock from a sitting position up onto her hands and knees. Some babies crawl a lot sooner than ten months, but she has never been a big fan of being on her tummy.
- She confidently stands now with just a small amount of assistance. She will stand for a long time if her hands are on her play table, a window or an ottoman.
- She now eats about 4 ounces of solids three times a day, plus some finger foods as well. Her favorite finger foods are cereal puffs, avocado and banana. She really quickly got the hang of picking up and eating mushy and slippery foods like avocado - it only took her a day or so of trying and now she can eat an entire half avocado! She can really pack it away!
- She can clap her hands together now and will imitate you if you clap your hands together first.
- She will give you toys and high fives.
- She can stick her tongue out really far!
- While we were home over Christmas and "ice-cation," she got into a good routine of taking longer naps. She naps twice a day at around 9:30 and 2:30 for about an hour or an hour and a half each. Of course, this varies some at daycare and her naps are usually shorter there. She goes to bed at around 7:00 every night and is up around 7:00 the next day. Typically she'd be up once a night for a quick feeding but with all the sleep disruptions lately, she is sometimes up two or three times. But she always falls back asleep within 15 minutes.
- She's a playful, happy girl with a sweet disposition. She loves to be out and about and will smile and flirt with anyone who crosses her path. She's quite the charmer and everyone always comments on how cute and happy she is!
I guess I need to start thinking about her first birthday. I cannot believe it is only two months away. Sniff. My little baby girl is growing up too fast.
