Mother's Day Fun

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! On Thursday at school, we had a "muffins with mom" breakfast and Shelby gave me a sweet card and a button bracelet. On Sunday, we had brunch in the garden at my favorite Atlanta brunch spot, Wahoo Grill. I'm so lucky to call this girl mine... she's the sweetest!

The Great Outdoors

It finally turned into summer this week, with sunny skies and high temps in the 80s. We dined outside a lot, got popsicles just because and spent lots of evenings playing outside after dinner. On Saturday, I ran in the Tucker Road Race and won my age group for the third year running (it's not a big race!). Then we enjoyed the rest of the day at the Tucker Day festival. Shelby got to sit in a fire truck - she thought that was pretty neat.

Art Party

We went to a really fun art-themed birthday party on Sunday. Each girl got a canvas and paints and with the teacher's instruction, painted a princess and her castle. Shelby did a great job! I was amazed at how everyone followed directions and (with minor assistance from parents) finished with a really nice painting that resembled the original. Shelby LIVES for birthday parties!
A fun balancing game!
Backyard zip line... so much fun!
Shelby prepares her canvas.
Little artists at work.
Some Ring Pop assisted artistry.
Painting the sun and clouds.

The finished masterpiece! I only had to help her with the face, wand, some details on the castle, and outlining some of the smaller shapes to fill in. She did most all by herself!
The girls show off their finished pieces.
