Inman Park Festival

Face painting... a festival requirement. Spending half of your time at the festival waiting in the face painting line... also a requirement.

Today we rode MARTA down to the Inman Park Festival. We had a great time! (Until Shelby's balloon floated away...major tragedy for a four year old). There was all the usual festival stuff... face painting, bouncy house, performers and street vendors and it was so nice to stroll the shady streets of the neighborhood. I had never been to the festival before - we will definitely be back to the neighborhood - it was great. Our quest to visit all the great Atlanta neighborhoods continues. Shelby's favorite part was riding "the train" to get there! All in all, a great day!

Picture heavy post coming up! We had a busy and fun Easter weekend! It was a little rainy and soggy on Saturday but Sunday was the perfect day. Our weekend was filled with Easter egg hunts, church, family time and egg dyeing. At our neighborhood egg hunt on Sunday, Scott was the Easter bunny and Shelby got a huge kick out of that!

Dogwood Festival Weekend

What a nice weekend we had! I love springtime in the south! On Friday night, Scott and I went to a UGA athletics event in Athens while Shelby stayed with the Kellys (she was very well behaved for them). Saturday morning, Scott, Shelby and the boys went to the G Day game and Carrie and I drove back to Atlanta for a wedding shower. On Sunday, Scott had to go into his office for a few hours so Shelby and I rode to Midtown with him and then walked to Piedmont Park to the Dogwood Festival. We had so much fun! She's at a really fun, easy age right now where we can just get up and go... the days of lugging heavy diaper bags and strollers are over. It was nice to walk a couple of city blocks with her without having to worry about her getting tired or wandering into traffic! She still likes to hold hands though, which I love and will always welcome. We enjoyed a multicultural dance performance, the playground, kid's activities, funnel cake and some carefully rationed rides (I did not want to spend all of our time waiting in line to buy tickets and ride rides!) Her favorite part was feeding crumbs to the geese in the pond!

Downton Norcross

Last Saturday, we ventured into Downtown Norcross. I had never been there before and I loved it! That's one of the reasons I love Atlanta - there are a million little neighborhoods and pockets of interest to discover. As the weather warms up, we hope to explore more. Norcross had a beautiful park, playground and cute stores and restaurants. Shelby's favorite part was the rather active train track that was visible from the playground (it was safely separated from the playground by a fence and parking area). Every time a train came by - which was probably about every ten minutes or so - all the kids would run to the edge of the playground and wave. It was so cute! We also enjoyed lunch in an English pub and a stop a Taste of Britain, a store that sells British groceries, candy and gifts. I was in heaven!
