Snow Days

Snowmageddon hit Atlanta on Tuesday! We thankfully all made it home safely before gridlock took over the city. We enjoyed snow fun on Tuesday and Wednesday, but today we are ready to go back to work and school. This was Shelby's first snow fall that she is old enough to remember and play in (since the ice storm of 2011) and she had a great time. But as fun as it was, we are very ready for spring!

January Blues

Sorry for the lack of updates lately... we really haven't been doing anything very exciting at all! It's been miserably COLD this month! And with all this cold we don't even get any snow. How unfair! Here's a quick snapshot of what we've been up to:
A classmate's birthday at a fun place called Young Chef's Academy. They all learned to make a mini pizza and then decorated a cupcake. It was really neat!
The Polar Vortex comes to town. I feel like we have been living in the movie Frozen. Which, speaking of, Shelby is obsessed with. We've seen it three times, bought the soundtrack (and listen to it daily on the ride home), got the dolls for Christmas and we just bought some books today. I must admit, it is a really cute movie.
Shelby has been learning to write her name at school. She gets better every day. She says making an S is "tricky!" Where does she come up with this stuff?
Self portrait. She's getting really good at drawing and coloring in the lines!
We make a trek to Mall of Georgia today. Shelby was pretty entertained by the carousel and indoor play area. We are ready for it to be warm again!

Downton Abbey Weekend

Scott and I just took a really fun trip - we went to Sea Island Resort for a Downton Abbey themed weekend! I was  interviewed by Georgia Public Broadcasting about the weekend and you can read more about it here. Downton Abbey is a period drama from the UK and it's one of my favorite shows. When I read about a special weekend of events with one of the stars of the show and the author of Downton Abbey books, I knew I had to go. Especially since it was happening in Georgia! It was the next best thing to actually going to England. We had a wonderful time and it was nice to get away and relax.
