Sunday Funday

We had a fun morning on Sunday. Between running errands and getting ready for the week, we stopped downtown for a Sunday farmer's market and train sighting. There was a King of Pops popsicle cart there and I couldn't resist getting one. Of course, Shelby immediately claimed it for herself and had a great time getting sticky! We capped off a great weekend with a yummy dinner on the patio at Napoleon's with Papa and Glee. I love spring weekends!

She did this all on her own!

Ponytail Update

Shelby's hair is getting so long!

At the Car Wash

We're having fun outside while daddy does some yard work. Gotta get our car sparkling clean for driving it to the pool this summer!

A Sweet Friday Night

After dinner on Friday night, we checked out the newly opened bakery downtown on Main Street. It was super cute and I can see us going there a lot this summer! Our little downtown is really improving and lots of cute places are opening up. It's great living in a place with a small town Main Street feel even when we live in a big city!

Making Mischief

Someone figured out how to climb on the back of the couch today. This grimace is her "smile" face.

One More Easter Video

If you're not tired of Easter stuff yet, here is one more Easter video that Scott made. He got a little creative and I think it turned out really pretty! It's not too shabby having a talented photographer/video editor in the household!

Friday Night Softball

Shelby at daddy's softball game on Friday night. She loved it and loved yelling "go daddy!" when he was at bat.

2 Going On 16

Shelby's ready to get her driver's license!

* Although the keys are in the ignition, this was taken in our driveway and the car was off. No babies were allowed to drive during this photo shoot.

G Day Game and Our Weekend

Shelby and Hairy Dawg face off over the hedges.

We went to Athens this weekend for the G Day game and Shelby had a great time there, as always. When we talk about going to Athens, she always replies with "Luke, Hairy, Carrie." (her friend Luke, Hairy Dawg, and Luke's mom Carrie). She loves playing with Luke and she LOVES Hairy Dawg. This visit with him was a little more successful than the crying freak out at the basketball game - I think the row of famous Sanford Stadium hedges kept him at a more comfortable distance! We got to our seats in the stadium and she immediately spotted him and wanted to go down for a closer look - she really has an eagle eye for things at far distances!

Shelby has nearly grown out of her pack n play portable crib and I think its days are numbered, even though I am not ready to move her to a big bed for vacations or travel! She still sleeps in her crib at home and I would like it to stay that way for as long as possible! We went to Athens on Friday night and she woke up at 5:30 in the morning on Saturday - NOT fun! I think she was having a bad dream or forgot where she was, and once she fully woke up, there was no getting her back to sleep, especially because she remembered that we were staying with Luke, so of course she wanted to go looking for him! Travel with Shelby is fun, but taking her to new environments can be exhausting, too.

On Sunday, Papa, Glee and "Sadie dog" came over to babysit Shelby while we saw a Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, a new musical at the Alliance Theatre by Stephen King, T Bone Burnett and John Mellencamp. It was great to get away for a kid-free lunch at Tap in Midtown and a theatre experience. The highlight of the babysitting experience for Shelby was of course that Sadie came over to her house - she thought that was great! It was Bill and Glee's first time babysitting and Shelby did not shed a single tear - I think the added bonus of the dog was a huge hit!

Being Silly

We're on our way to Athens for the spring football scrimmage and this is how Shelby entertains herself.

Year Three

I've taken a picture of Shelby under our neighbor's cherry tree every spring since birth. The carpet of pink flowers on their pretty green grass is just too irresistible!

Easter Finale

We had a great Easter Sunday. We had a relaxing breakfast and morning at home, went to church, ate lunch and came home for naps. Then we spent a relaxing afternoon watching the the final round of the Masters and watching former UGA golfer Bubba Watson win the tournament. The day was topped off by Shelby using her little green potty! What a great day!
You can see more of our Easter pictures in the gallery. This has been a very photographable holiday!

Happy Easter!

More Easter Fun

Church Easter egg hunt.

Neighborhood hunt - ready to go get eggs!

Getting messy and having fun dyeing eggs. I can't wait to turn these into egg salad tomorrow!

We had so much fun doing Easter festivities today. We went to two Easter egg hunts - one in the morning at church and our neighborhood hunt in the afternoon. When we got home, we dyed eggs. Shelby had a great time. I love this time of year - it always makes me think of my grandparent's house in Augusta, spring break, Easter dresses, the Masters, pretty blooming flowers, Shelby's birth and infancy, and good weather.

First Visit to the Zoo

Scott and I were both off work for Good Friday today so we took advantage of the cooler temps and our day off and visited Zoo Atlanta. Shelby loved it! She was excited to see all of her favorite animals from her books up close and in person, and she loved playing on the playgrounds and play areas throughout. We could probably just go and play on the playgrounds and she'd be happy! They have a petting area with goats and sheep, but she was a little scared to get too close. We had lunch there and she was so tired, she fell asleep on the ride home. We got a great deal on a family membership and can't wait to go back many more times this spring and summer!

Shelby on Main Street

Here's Shelby on our Main Street. We went down there today to check out a new farmers market. It was pretty small but she had a good time walking around.

Vintage Video of the Week

We've been watching this video a lot and Shelby is all about the "neester bunny" this week.

The Energizer Bunny

After the Easter egg hunt... Give this little Energizer Bunny one mini bag of Skittles and she keeps going, and going and going. No, this video is not on a loop... Shelby really did run down that ramp about ten times in a row. Needless to say, she fell asleep immediately on the ride home.

Easter Egg Hunt

Shelby the bunny.

Here's Shelby looking a little overwhelmed after the HUGE Decatur Easter egg hunt this weekend. There were a ton of kids there and it was crazy, but fun. Shelby really started to get the whole egg hunt thing this year, although she wanted to stop and eat candy after every find! She had a great time running around and having fun. You can see more pictures in our new Easter gallery.
