Babbling Baby Girl

It seems like Shelby has become much more talkative lately. She babbles all the time now, in that cute baby way with inflections that sound like grown up speak but makes no sense! When she isn't babbling, she can sometimes repeat actual "words." Her current words are:
  • Mama
  • Dada
  • Uh oh - her favorite and the one she most often uses correctly, usually after she drops her cup or falls on her bottom!
  • Dur dur = cat, animal or car (or whatever she might be pointing at at the moment). Scott is sad she calls everything "dada" but I think she is maybe saying "that."
  • Nana = banana, night night
  • Ba = ball
  • Tuh tuh = turtle bathtub toy
  • Ma = mouth
  • Puh = up
She also sometimes points to her head, nose, mouth, ear and eyes when you say those words - when she feels like it! She also sometimes does the sign for "more" and "all done," which they taught her at school. Her "more" signal can be the sign for more of anything and we have noticed her use it, for example, if we stop pushing her in her push car. It's like she is saying "More pushing! Keep going!"

She has also gotten really good at doing a "gimme" signal - opening and closing her hand in the general direction of whatever she wants and making a grunty whiney noises like "uhm uhm uhm." Lovely! The whining has begun!
