We're having fun seeking out different summer activities now that our pool is temporarily closed. It's forced us to get a little creative and we're enjoying breaking out of our usual routine.
We spent Saturday at Lake Lanier and had a great time! I was envisioning a red clay mud hole, but the water was gorgeous and clear and the beach was sandy and clean. Shelby had a wonderful time swimming and digging in the sand at the "beach" and even though it's not the real ocean, this beach was only 30 minutes away... it will do in a pinch!
That evening, we went "hiking" on a little trail near our house. It's less than a mile long and more of a dog walking trail than anything else, but Shelby still had fun in our urban forest.
Birthday parties! We celebrated the third birthdays of two little friends this weekend. Shelby lights up at the sight of cake and loves singing Happy Birthday at the top of her lungs.
She's getting good at pedaling and despite the mosquitos, we've been enjoying some driveway time during the week. Chalk, ride on toys and bubbles = a fun afternoon.
